# Kin Chronicle > Lay out a family's (or a house's, a club's, a person's) remembered and documented history on a zoomable swimlane timeline - one lane per person, place or thread, events with fuzzy dates - and see where it is thin. Free checks find contradictions, gaps and coverage; a paid pass returns gap-fill questions to ask a relative or look up, explanations of the contradictions, and general-history context events that appear as ghosted cards labelled "context, unverified" until you accept them. URL: https://kin-chronicle.skillsafe.ai/ API tutorial: https://kin-chronicle.skillsafe.ai/api.html Method: @aradotso/autoresearch-genealogy (github.com/aradotso/trending-skills) - timeline-gap analysis, the cross-reference audit (find discrepancies between sources before adding anything), oral-history interviewing, confidence tiers (strong / moderate / speculative), and its guard rails: never fabricate record ids or URLs, mark what is reported rather than confirmed, turn uncertainty into an open question. ## Free, in the browser - Lanes: person, place, thread or context; a person lane may name its parents and carries birth and death from its events. - Events with fuzzy dates: "c. 1950", "spring 1962", "Mar 1962", "1950s", "before 1945", "after 1960", "1940 - 1945", exact days; each is drawn as its range, with a faded bar for uncertainty. Types: birth, baptism, marriage, divorce, death, burial, residence, move, migration, education, work, military, health, context, other. Each event can carry a place, people, a source, a confidence tier and a note. - Zoomable timeline: pan and zoom across the span; named eras drawn as bands. - Checks: contradictions (an event before a birth or after a death, two birth or death dates, a parent too young or too old, one person in two places at once, an implausible age), gaps of N or more years per lane, coverage per lane, missing anchors (a person with no birth, a parent with no death), undated events. - Import: CSV, a GEDCOM subset (individuals, families, BIRT/BAPM/MARR/DIV/DEAT/BURI/RESI/EMIG/EDUC/OCCU with dates and places), the app's JSON. - Export: SVG poster, a printable poster, CSV, GEDCOM .ged, JSON, and a Markdown interview sheet of the open questions grouped by the relative to ask and by person on the timeline. - Bundled examples (an invented three-generation family, a house's history) whose recorded replies replay for free. ## Paid (credits, model gpt-terra, 10% markup) - task "gaps": the first pass. - task "followup": after you added answers; carries the previous pass and the events added since; every question comes back answered, open or new. Input (all strings): task, title, kind (family|house|club|care|career|free), today, span, lanes (" | | |
" per line), events (" | | [ - ] | | | <place> | <extra>" per line, decimal-year ranges, marker lines for events not sent), eras, facts_json (gaps, contradictions, anchors_missing, undated, coverage, counts - computed in the browser), previous_json (followup), clip_note, retry_note. Output: JSON Lines - one {"k":"meta","task","summary"}, 3 to 12 {"k":"q","qid","lane","from","to","ask":"relative|record","who","text","why","hint"[,"status":"answered|open|new"]}, 0 to 6 {"k":"x","xid","ids","kind","text","resolve"}, 0 to 8 {"k":"ctx","cid","lane","date","title","scope":"local|national|world","why"}, then {"k":"end"}. The browser refuses any line that names a lane or event not on the timeline or a date outside the span, shows every context event as "context, unverified" (never a fact about the family), and lists the checks' contradictions the reply did not explain. ## Sources and credit Method credited to @aradotso/autoresearch-genealogy (github.com/aradotso/trending-skills). The model never invents record numbers, archive references or URLs; record questions name only the kind of record and where such records are usually kept.
